WHAT IS COMMUNITY ORGANISING?
You probably already know of many famous community organisers like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and even Barak Obama who started as an organiser in the streets of Chicago before becoming president of the United States. Community organisers see injustice and don't just stand by watching, they reach out, listen to people, build powerful networks with participatory leadership and make change happen from the inside out, from the bottom up.
This dynamic and energising program will help you gain transferable skills, because organising is as much about community led change as it is about learning to listen to ourselves and others, learning about group collaboration and self discovery on a journey towards self empowerment.

Change only happens when people like yourself decide to make it happen
Community Organising is the work of bringing people together to take action around their common concerns and overcome social injustice. Community organisers reach out and listen, connect and motivate people to build their collective power.
Our one day training course introduces you to the core foundations of community organising – genuine, effective listening which sparks dialogue and explores motivations, an analysis of power in community and how to build it, and an exploration of how to organise and motivate people to take effective action together to address common concerns.
